About Me

Hey!  I'm Bethany Owenby and I'm a southern gal.  I spent the first eighteen years of my life growing up in a wonderful, loving, Christian household out in the country just outside of Greenville, NC.  I spent many days of my childhood outside swinging, swimming, and digging in the dirt thanks to my parents' love of the outdoors.  I feel tremendously blessed to have the memories, traditions, and love that gush from my family every time I see or talk to them.  I have a brother, Chad, who is three years older than me who has two beautiful kiddos, Ella and Eli, who I love so dearly.  I don't get to see them nearly enough, but I don't want to get my mom started on reasons why we should move back to Greenville, so I'll move on...

After high school, I was itching for a change of scenery so I packed up and moved a whopping two hours (before the 264 bypass) away from home to Raleigh to attend North Carolina State University.  There, I met my man, the love of my life, Ryan Owenby.  My senior year, we decided that it was a smart and responsible idea to get a two month old puppy together.  Keep in mind, we were not engaged, living together, or anything that normally would or SHOULD come before getting a puppy (om, child) together.  Our pup was a cute, but troublesome little guy, but he grew up into a very chill dog.  THANK GOD.

After college, I started working at the National MS Society as a fundraiser.  Over the past five years, my teammates and I have put on some amazing events, raised a ton of money for MS, and had a dang good time doing it.  During my time with this organization, I learned that I LOVE communications - graphic design, writing, social media, etc.  I was and am very lucky that my responsibilities were able to flow with my interests and I now manage the communications, websites, and social media for our three mass market events. YAY!

In June of 2009, I married the man of my dreams and settled into a lovely townhome in Cary, NC.  Although we absolutely love our home, we are ready for a yard and neighbors who are not sooo close (we share two of our four walls).  This country gal needs more room!  We recently put our house on the market and we have our fingers crossed.  We are hoping to move to a cute house in a friendly neighborhood in Raleigh to be closer to work and our church.  We'll see what God has in store for the coming year.

Ryan and I are extremely blessed and grateful for our friends and family.  Thank you for your love and friendship and for taking the time to read this blog.
